Spring 2013 Registration Is Now Open!

Below you will find two links to our online registration site — one for our in-house Academy Program and one for our more competetive KC Metro League Program.

A few comments about our online registration process: Paper registration has been a huge time consumer for our volunteers in the past. Online registration is the only way to make registration feasible as our club grows each year. We will not offer paper registration any longer.

Lastly, on the last page of your online registration, you will have the option to pay by credit card (VISA, MC, Discover) or by check with directions on how much and where to send your payment. All payments for the Academy Program must be received by February 15. All payments for the KC Metro League Program must be received by the date of the first practice for your assigned team in early February.

If you have questions about what program is right for your child, please don’t hesitate to email us at info@smithvillesoccer.org

Academy Program

Geared for younger, less experienced players, our Academy program is perfect for starting out in soccer and for the child who just wants to have fun while learning the fundamentals of the game. The emphasis in this program is FUN and exercise. Competition is introduced but downplayed.

U4 Tot Soccer — for kids who were under 4 on August 1, 2012. This program will be built each year around the needs of the kids we have registered. Depending on how many kids we have register, we might just do a large group and form teams each night, or, if our numbers allow, might form teams that each child will stay with throughout the season. This program will include 30 minutes of practice time where every player will practice with their ball and about 20 minutes of informal game time. The season is 6 weeks long and will likely meet on Thursday nights at 6:00. Cost is $45.

U6 Academy — for kids who were 4 or 5 on August 1, 2012. Our U6 Academy will be much like the U6 program that we have run the past several years with 30 minutes of individual practice time followed by 30 minutes of game time.

We will also be strongly encouraging all coaches to participate in a training session with Missouri Youth Soccer Association’s Denny Vaninger, state Director of Coaching and hope to get high school players to join us as trainers for a few of the sessions! We expect this program to meet on Tuesday nights at 6:00 and run for 6 weeks. Cost is $60.

U8 Academy — for kids who were 6 or 7 on August 1, 2012. This is a brand new program for Smithville Soccer Club in 2012/2013. In response to a growing desire to have more local options for play, we are offering this program on an experimental basis to see what the local demand would be. Teams will be parent coached, just like the U4 and U6 programs and be provided 1 hour of practice time each week with a game on the weekends. Game format will be 4v4 with a 6 to 8 person roster to insure lots of playing time for all. (If we don’t have enough kids to form a minimum of 4 local teams, we may consider entering these teams into another local, Northland league that has agreed to allow us to enter our teams into their program.) Cost will be $80 and run for 8 weeks.

KC Metro League Program

This is our primary program for recreational and competitive league play for players who no longer qualify (by age) to play in our Under 6 Academy Program. (Under 7 and under 8 players will have two options: U8 Academy (local) or KC Metro League. Kids may choose to play in both programs.)

Please note that it is very important that you sign up on or before February 15 for this program as we have to have all teams registered with the league shortly after this date. After this date, we will only be filling any remaining open roster spots.
